Mildred Manning Finnell of Fayetteville, Georgia passed to Spirit on May 6, 2017. She was born on November 4, 1921 in Covington, Kentucky, daughter of Thomas and Jeanet Manning.

Mildred was a 1939 graduate of Dixie Heights High School in South Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, where she was Captain of the Cheerleading Team, member of Girls Reserve, Scholastic D Club, Debate Team, Drama Club, Junior Academy of Science, and Pep Club. Known as Millie Lou, by her classmates, and chosen as The Most Determined, the quote chosen to be published with her senior Photo said, "Upon knowing her there is one thing we can say, We would like to know her better."

Upon Graduating the course study of The Mendendieck System of Functional Exercises Mildred was a fitness instructor at The Tarr System.

She attended Fayetteville First Methodist Church, and was a member Of Mary Martha Circle. For Many years Mildred was a Member of The East Point Women's Club, serving as Art Chairman for numerous years. She was elected Woman of the Year in both 1989 and 2000.

Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, she is preceded in passing by her husband of 61 years Robert Kirtley Finnell Jr. and her youngest son Bradford Riley Finnell. She is survived by her daughter Betsy Finnell Speer, her son Robert Kirtley Finnell III, three grand children Meredith Manning Speer, Elizabeth Louise Speer and Kirtley Andrew Finnell, as well as one great grandson Miles Wolf Hagerty.

Our immediate family extends love and thanks to Lisa Jeanet Mercer, niece and Robbyn Kay Lyons, cousin for their loving attention, as well as a superb team of caregivers.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held at Hughes Chapel Cemetery located in Union, Boone County, Kentucky on May 13, 2017 at 11:00am.
