Beverly Jean Sawdon Pinney, age 85, of Independence, KY, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at her residence. She was a former Teacher and enjoyed camping, watching movies, Christmas time, and spending time with her grandchildren. Another one of her passions was music. She loved music and used to sing Big Band music for the U.S.O., as well as played the piano, organ and collected music boxes. Her son, Michael Pinney , husband, Clarence Pinney, and son-in-law, Gary Sander preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Dawn Sander, Debra Sketch (Thomas), Nanciann Pinney, Douglas Pinney (Lisa), David Pinney (Nancy), and John Pinney; sister, Marcia Ann Vargo (Rich), brother, Larry Sawdon (Linda); sixteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; and special family friend, Karl Lutes. Visitation will be Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence with services immediately following at 4 p.m. Interment will be Monday, April 3, 2017 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
