INDEPENDENCE - John Roger Ivey, 81, died Tuesday, March 24, at St. Elizabeth Hospice, Edgewood. He was a truck driver for Budig Trucking, a Coast Guard veteran, member of Lockland Baptist Church in Cincinnati and Veterans of Foreign Wars. His wife, Hilda Gosney Ivey, died in 1985 and son, Dennis Ivey died in 1998. Survivors include his sons, John W. and Roger Ivey of Independence; daughters, Sandy Baird of Taylor Mill and Bonnie Ivey of Independence; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, March 26, with service following at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill.
