Jessie Lee  Deck
Jessie Lee (Hicks) Deck, age 75 of Independence, KY and Milford, ME, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

She was born on March 23, 1941 to the late Oscar Brown and Ova Hicks. Jessie retired from Osram Sylvania, where she worked as a machine operator. She fostered many children throughout her life, and was always welcoming to anyone. Jessie enjoyed gardening and being outdoors.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard, and her special aunt, Delcie Gaw.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Emro; son, Richard (Bonnie) Taylor; her closest sister, Ann Thompson and several other siblings; grandchildren, Crystal (Jeff) Buzzell, Rebecca Howard, Shane (Mary) Dubay, Jeffrey Emro, Candice Emro, Peyton Griffey and Rikki Taylor; 5 great-grandchildren; and many other loving family members and friends.

A visitation for Jessie will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 3PM until 4PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. A memorial service will begin at 4PM, also at the funeral home.

Interment will take place in Old Town, ME at St. Joseph’s Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
