Gerald "Jerry" Reynolds  Elliott
Gerald “Jerry” Reynolds Elliott, of Walton, KY passed away at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the age of 77.

He was born in Dry Ridge, KY on September 13, 1938; the son of Alvin and Geraldine Elliott. Jerry worked for Rainbow Bread Company for 30 years and then worked another 16 years at Kirkwood Sweepers before finally retiring. Jerry’s wife was his life and soul mate. He loved his Ol’ Kentucky home. He enjoyed his work, sitting on his porch and gardening. His greatest joy was his family. Jerry was particularly close with Arick Kohlman, who was the apple of his eye.

Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Elliott. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Mary Lou Elliott; mother: Geraldine Elliott; children: Rhonda (Rick) Hinkle, Wanda Vance, Jayne Elliott, Lorie Rhoden, Ricky (Sharon) Elliott, Sheila (Roger) Vlieg, and Alissa (Randy) Kohlman; siblings: Jean Atkins, Steven (Marlene) Elliott and Verna Mae Wagner; grandchildren: Arick, Adam and Maranda Kohlman, Shawna Newton, Brittney (Zachery) Norris, Joshua and Brianna Elliot, Tera Hinkle, Danielle (Chad) Yenchochic, Matthew Nicely, Destinny (T.J.) Page and Chastinny Works; great-grandchildren: Trinity and Serenity State, Jeffy Newton, Brighley, Waylon and Ganix Norris, Kaitlyn and Kaison Page, Ethan and Elliana Works and Ryann, Gage and Brik Yenchochic; as well as other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Jerry will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. A funeral service will be held the following day, Friday, June 17, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow the service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Dry Ridge, KY.

As a tribute to Jerry, everyone attending his services are welcome to wear Kentucky Wildcat/UK apparel in his honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jerry’s name may be made to the family c/o Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home.
