Edward Vodicka, age 84, of Independence died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Florence. A retired computer technician, he was a member of St. Paul’s Church in Florence, the Lion’s Club of Independence and an Air Force Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Feldmann Vodicka in 2006. He is survived by a daughter, Kristy Grubbs of Independence; a brother, Frank Vodicka of Cleveland, OH; 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Shurley of Melbourne and Katherine Ferguson of Independence; and 3 great-grandchildren, Blake Grubbs, Madison Ferguson, and Paige Shurley.

A Gathering of Friends will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 11am-12pm at St. Paul’s Church, 7301 Dixie Hwy., Florence, KY, with the Memorial Mass following at noon. Entombment will be at the convenience of the family at KY Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown.
