Obituary for J D Fugate
J.D. Fugate, age 87, of Independence, landed softly in heaven on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood. He was a retired Factory Worker for Heekin Can Company and was a 32nd degree Mason in the Bradford Masonic Lodge. J.D. enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bee keeping. His sisters, Opal Lawson, Pearl Ratliff, Pyna Little, Bea Stamper, Hazel Chambers, Dosh Estridge, Gertie Noble, Anna Mae Brewer, Myrtle Dean, and Virgie Reed; and brothers, Bill Fugate and Green Fugate all preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Leona Hunter Fugate; children, Tony Fugate, Tina Marsh (Donnie), and Shirley Kaiser (Kenny); grandchildren, Dawn King (Butch), Benjamin Marsh (Danielle), and Miranda Fugate; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Mackenzie, Jaxon, Presley, Trinidy, and Raelyn. Visitation will be Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 9 a.m. to 10:40 a.m. with Masonic Services beginning at 10:40 a.m. Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
