Susan Kay Kidwell Gay, age 69, of Independence, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at her residence.

She was a devout Christian, loving wife, proud mother and even prouder grandmother, homemaker and a member of First Church of God.

Susan enjoyed reading and genealogy, but most of all, spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Gay in 2008, her parents, Kenneth Paul and Hannah Travis Kidwell and her nephew, Johnny Kidwell.

Susan is survived by her children, N. Brad Gay Jr. (Joyce), Rebecca Simmons (Bryan), and Amy Dever (Chris); sister, Kathleen Libecap; brother, John Kidwell (Sandy); grandchildren, Maria, Elijah, Kaylann, Paul, Casey, Alexis, Cammy and Christopher; great-grandchildren, Aeriona and Aiden; and many other loving family members and friends.

A visitation for Susan will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10AM until the funeral service 12PM, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence.

Interment will be at Independence Cemetery.
