Arthur “Larry” Lawrence Reel III, of Independence, KY passed away at his residence on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the age of 71. He was born in Covington, KY to the late Arthur L. Reel Jr. and Beulah Wolfe Reel.

Larry was retired from the Pipefitters Union Local 392. Larry was member of Nicholson Christian Church. He was a loving and dedicated family man who enjoyed making people smile, watching and participating in sports. Larry was an avid hunter and fisherman in his younger years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division (Air Mobile) 5th/7th Battalion in the Vietnam War 1966 through 1967 “Garry Owen!”.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Wetterhan Reel; children, Christopher S. Reel and Shannon Reel Fricke; grandchildren, Connor and Matthew Fricke; siblings, Rodney Reel, Becky (Jeff) Thomas, and Robert Reel; along with extended loving family and friends.

Visitation for Larry will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 12:00 P.M. on Thursday April 20, 2017 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Burial will immediately follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY.
