Obituary for Rick Trump

Rick Lynn Trump, age 49, of Florence, passed away peacefully at home Sunday, April 9, 2017 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born December 9, 1967 in Akron, OH the son of Rev. Dwaine Trump and Judith Ann Rechel Trump.

Rick was a graduate of Newton Falls High School. He attended Mount Vernon Nazarene University and later graduated with honors from Northern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s in history and a master’s in military history. Rick was a beloved teacher at Heritage Academy where he was named teacher of the year twice and listed in who’s who of American teachers 6 years. He also held positions as a national park ranger at the Taft Historic site in Cincinnati; director of the new market Battlefield Military Museum, director of operations at the University of Phoenix and he taught English at a University in China. While at NKU, Rick served as president of the history honor society Phi Alpha Theta and won the Timothy A. Smith award for best article in a scholarly journal. He loved history, but more than anything he loved the lord.

Rick leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Rachel Ann Trump, whom he married January 14, 2016; son, C.J. Trump; brother, Lucas Cline; sisters, Susan Jarvis, Rachel Trump and Christine Cline; step-mother, Darlene Trump; aunts, Joan Bedford, Dee Dee Gibbs, Barbara (Ted) Griffin and Marsha Putnam; mother and father in-laws, Donna and John Naypaver and Randall and Cheryl Bucy; brother and sister in law, Randy and Samantha Bucy; and sister and brother in law, Amy and Daniel Hanujcak.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Union Baptist Church, 1985 Mt. Zion Rd. Union, KY 41091 beginning at 7:30PM.
