Obituary for Norman Delmar Jackson

Norman Delmar Jackson, of Verona, KY passed away at Hospice of Hope in Maysville, KY on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the age of 89.

He was born in Hall, WV on November 9, 1927; the son of Dean & Opal Jackson. Norman was an Associate Dean of Agriculture & Forestry at West Virginia University and a member of First Church of Christ, where he attended Sunday school class and a Men’s Bible Study.

He also was a rabid sports fan, enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. Norman was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances Jackson and sister, Ethelene Owens.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Lisa (Paul) Sickles and Jennifer (Bill) Houser; grandchildren, Shea, Blake, Grant and Bradley Sickles and Nathaniel Houser; as well as other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Norman will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 6:00 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton on Monday, April 3, 2017. Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Morgantown, WV.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Norman’s name can be made to the Boone County Animal Shelter, 5643 Idlewild Rd, Burlington, KY 41005.
