James “Jim” Edward Bene, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his residence. He retired from Duke-Energy as a gas service technician and was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed playing sports, especially golf, and spending time with his family.

James is preceded in death by his son, James “Steven” Bene, brother, Bob Bene, and his sister, Pat Bryant. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dianne; daughter, Rhonda Gibbons; sons, Timothy (Rudie Price) Bene and Daniel Bene; brother, Earl Bene; one grandchild, Jared Gibbons and two great-grandchildren, Colten and Paityn.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations in lieu of flowers are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
