Barbara “Barb” Mae Austin, of Walton, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence, KY on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at the age of 71.

She was born in Covington, KY on October 2, 1945; the daughter of Earl and Elota Riley. Barb had worked as an order filler for Gibson Greeting Cards and enjoyed shopping, phone slot machine apps, flower gardening and watching WWE wrestling. Her greatest joy, however, was spending time with her family.

Barb was preceded in death by her father, Earl.

She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles Austin; children, Angela (Robert) Huffman, Derrick (Bobbie Jo) Austin, Dawn Duncan, Troy (Pam) Austin, Mandie Austin and Curtis Austin; mother, Elota Riley; brother, Tommy Riley; 21 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

Visitation for Barb will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will follow at Independence Cemetery.
