Condolence: It's very sad news to hear that Uncle Gary has passed away. Gary was always so kind and nice to everyone. It was fun to talk with him. He always seemed to humor in most topics of conversation.

Unfortunately, I've lived quite far from Uncle Gary so many years passed between most visits. I did enjoy all of them. He was a very good uncle.

May he rest in peace. Love his Nephew Stephen and family

Condolence: Gary was 9 years younger than me, his brother and when I went off to college at the University of Kentucky, Gary was probably in the 3rd grade. He did follow me to UK and you can read about his life on this site. Christine Houglin pretty well summed the great qualities of his life.

Our father worked in Cincinnati and built a home for us in Park Hills, KY. Our mother was a real care giver taking in first our aunt for 12 years and then caring for our dying grandmother and later having 2 grandfathers living with us at the same time. Gary lived through it all.

If you get a chance to look at some of Gary’s pictures, you will always see him smiling. He loved his friends, but he still grieved for his wife Jan who died of cancer and also their only child, Scott to an auto accident. Gary did inherit Scott’s cat named Gizmo and you can see him on his Facebook page.

He loved golf and had a place in FL where he visited in the winter.

We will all miss Gary, but he has been a tough soldier battling this terrible disease for the last 10 years. I certainly have to admire that quality in him.

Now, he can be at peace with Jan and Scott.

Condolence: A wise 'Ole man , with a soul as kindred as one could be.

He embraced life at its fullest, enjoying the little things in life.  A quality to which we can learn to live by.

He led to inspire all and those who crossed his path were touched by his generosity.

He had charm, wit, an uncanny quirky sense of humor and a loving nature about him, just a few of the many attributes that defined who he was and made him the man he had become.

He was adored by all and with that being said, he leaves behind a legacy.

As each day in his life became numbered, he kept living life to its fullest while life carried  on, until one day, God looked down, quietly whispered and said, "It's time to come home Gary, it's time to come home".

His pain is no more, for he is amongst his new home where the angels rejoice and the Eagles gracefully soar.

While our hearts may be laden with sorrow, our eyes filled with tears, we can only trust in the good Lords plan and know, it was his time to go.

As we gaze upon the heavens, he will be looking down upon us with a heartfelt smile.  When we least expect it, he will be with us step by step.
