Obituary for Gary Weingartner
Gary Weingartner, age 70, passed away on October 18, 2016 from complications of multiple myeloma.
Mr. Weingartner last worked for Kenton County Golf course. He also worked in the hardware industry for Leon Supply, the Irwin Co and New York Twist Drill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice and son, Darren Scott. He is survived by his stepson, Kevin Jordan, brother, Harry (Betty) and their 3 children, David (Sara) Weingartner, Stephen (Kerri) Weingartner, and Susan (Aaron) Fairchild. Mr. Weingartner coached and played on many church softball and basketball teams.
He started an endowed scholarship at Gateway Community Technical College in his son’s name. In 2006, Mr. Weingartner was named benefactor of the year by the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6PM until the time of the Funeral Service, 8PM, at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home in Florence, KY.
An interment of cremated remains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Gateway Community and Technical College, Attn: Scott Weingartner Nursing Scholarship, 500 Technical Way, Florence, KY 41042.
