Elizabeth “Libby” Rouse of Walton passed away on Friday, August 26th. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, attorney Asa Rouse, children Mills (Charlene) Rouse, Amy (Robert) Arnett and Rebecca (Michael) Glenn and six grandchildren, Addison Rouse, Clinton Arnett, Holden Rouse, Kate Rouse, Gillian Glenn and Shannon Glenn. Libby graduated from Chillicothe (Ohio) High School in 1949 and attended Ohio University. She met Asa, a 21 year old UK Law School Student, at a party in Lexington on October 27, 1951. Eight months later, on June 18, 1952, the couple married in the Chapel at Lexington’s Epworth Methodist Church. Asa often later remarked that, had he known on the night they met what he later learned, they would have married eight days, instead of eight months, after they met. Graveside services will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that Libby’s memory be honored by donations to Walton Cemetery, in care of the Cemetery’s Treasurer, Joella Flynn, 12409 Crouch Road, Walton 41094.
