David F. “Crazy Dave” Varner, 62, of Independence, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice of Edgewood on Tuesday, August 23, 2016.

Dave was a truck driver for CSI in Covington and a member of Community Family Church. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Kentucky Wildcats and Nascar.

Dave is preceded in death by his father, James H. Varner; brothers, Clifton and James Varner.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 23 years, Cherie Varner; children, Josh Richardson, Jimmy Varner, Justin Varner, Scarlett Varner, and Vickie Boles; mother, Hilda Varner; sisters, Brenda Watts (Leslie) and Dixie McClure (Coby); many grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will take place on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 11:30 AM until the time of service at 1:30 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home Walton. Interment will take place following the service at New Bethel Cemetery in Verona, KY.
